Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park is one of the Gold Coast's most varied camping parks. It combines direct access to calm creek water with waterfront and ensuite sites, standard powered and unpowered options, two pools and family facilities. Palm Beach, Burleigh Heads, cafes and surf beaches are close enough to reach without planning a full-day drive.
Choosing the correct category matters here. A waterfront or premium powered site offers a very different stay from an unpowered tent site beside the Gold Coast Highway. Compare location as carefully as power and surface.
Getting there and arrival times#
Address: 1544 Gold Coast Highway, Palm Beach QLD 4221
Reception is currently open from 8am to 6pm daily, except Christmas Day. Standard sites check in from 11am, ensuite sites from 12pm, and all sites check out by 10am. Contact the park before travelling if you need an after-hours arrangement; arrivals after 8:30pm are not permitted under the current terms.
The entrance is on a busy coastal corridor. Supply the total length of your rig, including drawbar, racks, slide-outs and other attachments, so staff can allocate an appropriate site before arrival.
Choosing the right site#
The official accommodation guide separates camping into six useful categories:
- Ensuite powered sites: concrete slab plus a private bathroom.
- Waterfront powered sites: positioned directly on the creek for water views.
- Premium powered sites: locations close to the water or pool.
- Powered slab sites: varying sizes for caravans, camper trailers, campervans and tents.
- Standard powered sites: intended particularly for tents, campervans and camper trailers; the published capacity is six.
- Unpowered tent sites: no power, on the eastern side of the park close to the Gold Coast Highway.
Use the official park map to compare the pools, amenities, creek edge, highway and site categories before making a request. If sleep is a priority, do not select the cheapest unpowered category without considering traffic exposure. The operator itself identifies those sites as highway-adjacent. Conversely, waterfront and premium labels refer to position, not necessarily extra privacy or a guaranteed site number.
One vehicle space is normally included. Tell the park if a vehicle exceeds five metres, and request rather than assume a particular site.
Facilities and family activities#
The official park page lists:
- two seasonally heated swimming pools: an all-ages resort pool with waterslides and toddler splash area, plus a smaller over-18 pool
- playground and tennis court
- camp kitchens and barbecue areas
- toilets, showers, accessible bathrooms and parents' bathroom
- coin-operated laundries
- two chemical dump points
- kiosk with basic groceries, ice, gas exchange, bait, beach items and coffee
- boat ramp immediately outside the park
- food trucks and organised activities on selected dates
Pool hours are posted onsite and can change. Children under 12 must be supervised in the pools and other park facilities. The kiosk's published hours are 7am–7pm, but confirm around public holidays.
The park does not provide Wi-Fi. The operator reports good mobile coverage and 5G in most areas, though congestion during busy holidays can still affect performance.
Pets are not accepted. The guest information makes an exception for documented assistance animals.
Creek access and getting around#
The park boundary follows Tallebudgera Creek, giving campers direct access for swimming, fishing and paddleboarding. A public path continues along the waterfront and under the motorway toward Neptune Beach. Palm Beach and Burleigh are close, and a bus stop outside the park is repeatedly noted by travellers.
This is an open creek rather than a supervised pool. Check local signs and conditions before entering the water, particularly with children or watercraft.
What campers say#
Recent Tripadvisor reviews, CamperMate reports and public Google-review excerpts on the official park page reveal consistent trade-offs:
- Creek access, the two pools and walkability make the park particularly popular with families. Recent 2026 reviewers also value being able to explore by foot, bike or bus.
- Amenities and grounds are repeatedly described as clean and maintained, including during a busy January 2026 long weekend.
- Peak periods feel lively rather than secluded. Expect children, bikes, scooters, activities and food vendors during holidays, although one peak-period report said the park settled at the 10pm quiet time.
- Site space varies. A March 2026 CamperMate reviewer recommended asking about a corner position for more usable room.
- Road noise is site-dependent. Reports about the unpowered highway-side area range from acceptable overnight to disruptive; the location is factual, but individual tolerance and traffic vary.
These are traveller-reported experiences, not guarantees of space, quiet, cleanliness or a particular site.
Booking and cancellation terms#
Book through the official booking portal. Site allocation depends on category, rig dimensions and operational needs, so record any waterfront, surface, access or noise priority before paying.
Gold Coast Tourist Parks' cancellation terms vary by season. Off-peak cancellations inside 28 days forfeit the deposit. During peak periods, the charge is 25% of the booking value from 40–29 days, 50% from 28–15 days and no refund at 14 days or less. Cancellations must be in writing. Peak minimum stays and payment schedules can differ, so the confirmation for your dates is authoritative.
Can't get a booking?#
A cancellation in the unpowered highway area is not equivalent to a sold-out waterfront or ensuite site. If the category that suits your trip is unavailable, set up a free CampWatch alert and we'll text when matching availability returns. No app, no account — just your phone number.
Campground details were checked against Gold Coast Tourist Parks' official park, site and terms pages, plus public traveller reviews, on 31 August 2026.
