What is the difference between an alert and a notification?
An alert is a search you ask us to keep checking. You choose a place and dates. A notification is a message we send when a campsite that fits your search becomes available. Setting an alert uses no credit. One credit covers the first availability notification for that search. This message has a booking link.
What does one credit cover?
One credit covers the first availability notification for one search. More notifications for that same search are free. A search includes your campground or park, dates, how much your start date can move, and your choice of weekdays or weekends. A park search covers the campgrounds we check in that park. If you change these settings, it counts as a new search.
What if nothing becomes available?
You use no credits. We keep checking until your alert ends.
What happens when I run out?
You need at least one credit to set a new alert. Alerts you already set keep checking. If we find a match that needs a credit, we ask you to top up before you can see it. If you do not top up within 7 days of that first message, those alerts pause. Add credits to start them again. More notifications for a search you already paid a credit for stay free.
Can I delete and re-add a search?
Yes. If you already used a credit for that same search, more matches are free. You still need at least one credit in your balance to add or restart an alert. Deleting an alert does not give back a credit you used.
Can I check availability myself?
Yes. You can search for free. If a site is open now, use the booking link. You do not need an alert or a credit. CampWatch does not hold or book the site for you.
Is this a subscription?
No. You buy a pack once. Your credits last until you use them. We never buy more credits for you or charge a monthly fee.
