Bayview Coral Bay

Plan Bayview Coral Bay camping with 2026 site prices, water arrangements, facilities, dog rules, booking terms and practical camper insights.

Bayview Coral Bay—now presented by the operator as Ningaloo Coral Bay—is a large holiday village a short walk from Bill's Bay and the Ningaloo Reef. Its campground offers powered and unpowered sites for tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans, with shops, food and tour desks close by.

This is remote-coast camping inside a busy tourism village, not a simple bush camp. The two details most likely to surprise first-time visitors are the water system and how early peak dates fill. Site taps carry artesian bore water; fresh drinking water is managed separately.

Getting there and arriving#

Address: Robinson Street, Coral Bay WA 6701

Coral Bay is reached by road from the Minilya-Exmouth Road. Fuel, food and mechanical options are limited compared with a regional town, so arrive prepared and check current Main Roads WA travel information before a long drive.

Site check-in is from 11am and check-out is by 10am. If arriving late, call ahead; the operator can leave a map and arrival instructions. Its FAQ recommends booking as far ahead as possible for April to September, Christmas/New Year, long weekends and school holidays.

Powered or unpowered?#

Both site types accept tents, caravans and campervans, but the inclusions differ:

  • Powered sites: one 240-volt outlet, access to artesian bore water at the site, ablutions and an initial 20-litre fresh-water fill. A limited dog area is available by arrangement.
  • Unpowered sites: access to ablutions, the camp kitchen and free barbecues, plus the same initial fresh-water allowance. Generators are not permitted and sites do not have sullage connections.

Site dimensions vary widely. The operator asks for the length of the vehicle both with and without the drawbar so staff can allocate a suitable space. Only one vehicle is permitted on each site, with extra vehicles directed to visitor parking if space is available.

During the 2026 high season, the powered-site page lists rates from $74 per night, while the unpowered-site page lists rates from $63 per night. Those prices cover one or two people. The operator currently lists extra adults at $15 and children aged 2–17 at $8 per night. Confirm the live total because dates, guest numbers and minimum stays change it.

Water: plan before you connect#

Do not treat the tap beside a campsite as ordinary town drinking water. The site supply is artesian bore water, which is also used in the showers.

Each site fee includes 20 litres of bulk-fill fresh water at check-in. Further tank fills are listed at $1 per 10 litres. Separate fresh-water taps around the park can be used to fill containers for free. Bring suitable drinking-water containers and decide how much tank water you need before arrival.

The camp kitchen has a kettle, toaster, microwave, gas rings, outdoor barbecue plate, sinks, fridges and seating. There is no park Wi-Fi. The operator reports Telstra and Optus mobile reception, while television requires satellite reception.

Dogs and the marine sanctuary#

Dog-friendly sites are limited and must be arranged before arrival. The current rules allow no more than two dogs per site, list a $2 nightly fee for each dog and a $50 bond payable at management's discretion. Dogs must remain leashed and well behaved.

Bill's Bay is a marine sanctuary, so dogs cannot go onto its beach or into the water. Ask reception where dogs can legally be exercised before booking; a dog-approved campsite does not mean every nearby beach is dog-friendly.

What campers say#

Recent CamperMate reports and public Facebook camping discussions show a consistent mix of strengths and trade-offs:

  • The location is the major draw. Campers value being able to walk to the beach, bakery, supermarket, food and tour departures.
  • It is a large, popular park. Some travellers find sites close together and the village busy; families may enjoy the activity, while quiet-seeking couples should ask to be away from the jumping pillow and main paths.
  • Camp-kitchen sinks and shared facilities can become congested at peak times. A self-contained setup reduces reliance on the busiest shared areas.
  • Several 2025–26 reports mention mice or signs of rodents, while other campers report seeing none or say the problem had eased. Treat this as a variable remote-area risk: seal food, close vehicle openings and ask reception for the latest advice.
  • Reviews often praise hot showers and the relaxed access to the reef, but opinions on value and amenity age are mixed.

These are subjective reports, not a current pest, cleanliness or noise guarantee. Site location, season and park occupancy make a material difference.

Booking, deposits and cancellations#

Book through the official Bayview Coral Bay portal. Peak school-holiday stays are generally weekly, Saturday to Saturday; Christmas/New Year has a four-night minimum.

The operator requires a 50% deposit within seven days of booking, or sooner when arrival is close. One-night stays require full prepayment. As checked on 30 August 2026, at least 21 days' written notice is required for a 90% deposit refund; no refund is offered within 21 days. Recheck the terms before paying.
